Initial Setup Guide
Learn how to set up your Trezor device for the first time, including installation, initialization, and basic configuration steps.
What You'll Need
- Your Trezor hardware wallet device
- A computer with an internet connection
- A USB cable (included with your Trezor)
- A pen and paper for writing down your recovery seed
Step 1: Install Trezor Suite
First, download and install Trezor Suite from the official website. This is the official software for managing your Trezor device.
Important: Always download Trezor Suite from the official website (suite.trezor.io) to ensure you're getting the legitimate software.
Step 2: Connect Your Device
Connect your Trezor device to your computer using the provided USB cable. The device should be recognized by Trezor Suite automatically.
Step 3: Initialize Your Device
When you first connect your Trezor, you'll be prompted to initialize it. Choose "Create new wallet" if this is a new device.

Your Trezor will display a series of 12 or 24 words. Write these down carefully on the recovery card provided. This is your backup - keep it safe and private.
Warning: Never store your recovery seed digitally or share it with anyone. Anyone with access to your seed can access your funds.
